Returning Home...

So its coming to the end of our time here in Australia so we've been busy trying to fit in all our touristy things between work when we can, in fact we will be back in 39 days and our travelling up to Cairns to see the great barrier reef begins in 26 days! 

So far we have managed to go to all of the theme parks here twice.. and visited Seaworld again so that we could stroke the manta ray and get in close and personal with all the different sharks there. 

We finally saw our first kangaroo's and koalas in Australia, we fed the kangaroo's and managed to cuddle some koalas as well which were all very cute I must say! 

We have also seen some crocodiles, one that was 4 metres long! Couldn't believe that size that some  of them can get too... 

Its getting cooler here as well as it is heading into their winter here although the lows in the day are reaching between 20 to 23 degrees and we're all cuddled up in jumpers and jeans, can't begin to think how cold we're going to be when we're back in England! 

Once we begin our travelling which we will be doing along the coast from Brisbane to Cairns I will be updating you with everything we are doing as we will finally be doing regular activities along the way.

Finally 21!

Although I did have work at 7 in the morning Tom and Si managed to make my day very special. 

As soon as I got back from work I was welcome with the apartment covered in balloons and banners wishing me a happy birthday and a lunch feast consisting of chocolate, sweets, quiche, sausage rolls and much much more! And a lovely birthday cake in the shape of a dog :) 

The afternoon was spent watching a girly film of my choice of course ;) -- I was told I had to be ready to leave at five, unsure what was next! 

Tom and I left at 5 30 where he took me to the best thai restaurant on the gold coast! Started with Tom Yum Soup, crab and curry and pad thai for mains! Lovely choice as I've been wanting thai food for ages!

I had a lovely day and thank you to everyone who sent cards, presents and all their love to Australia! Missing everyone and happy you haven't all forgotten about us ;) 

March.. Simon arrives and a trip to seaworld :)

So Simon arrived and what is the first thing the boys do?  :) 

After catching up on their sleep we decided to visit Seaworld... seeing Si's favourite penguins and managing to get a little burnt! 

We also got to see some manta ray's, dolphins, sharks, a polar bear and coral a beautiful coral reef. 

The boys got very excited about the shark bay :) 

Our Second Puppy :)

We have now looked after another puppy, we named Jager... 

She was so tiny! I know some of you might find it slightly boring, but these puppies are the highlight of some of our evenings!

As well as looking after our puppy, Tom has been doing some cooking aswell, lovely dinner cooked by tom! :)

So there is this pet shop about five minutes walk from our apartment which always has lots of puppies that we always like to go and visit. We then noticed a sign that mentioned looking after the puppies in the evening so they don't have to spend the evening alone in the shop, Tom was quick to sign us up to look after a puppy when they needed. 
This saturday we had our opportunity to look after one. 
He was a shitzu that we named Sammy. 

He was pretty hyper running round chasing Tom round the apartment and got himself stuck under the bed a few times.

Gold Coast Tornado

So the cyclone has now turned into a full on tornado so the whole of the NSW and QLD all have warnings out... this is a photo from earlier today... 

I'm not sure how good the video is but we wanted to attempt to show you how windy its been... 

We're all safe, although the apartment above us had their balcony door (which is made of glass) ripped out and smashed onto a car just below us! The wind is said not to be dying out till Wednesday now, but we will keep you updated :) 

Rain, rain and more rain...

So its still raining, third day running!! But we're all safe.. although walking to work in the rain is pretty difficult as its so windy that the umbrella immediately turns inside out but the downpour is so heavy...
